From May 12 to 16, 2025, a 5-day training workshop on “Research Proposal Writing Skills” was held at Hue University, Hue City, for lecturers and researchers from member universities in Vietnam, including Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Tay Nguyen University, and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. This activity was organized within the framework of the FORSU Project – Higher Education Cooperation for Forest Landscape Restoration and Sustainable Livelihoods in Bangladesh and Vietnam, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. The training was delivered by experts from the University of Helsinki, Finland, and focused on practical topics, including: • Developing research ideas • Structure and key components of an effective research proposal • Scientific writing and persuasive presentation techniques • Finding funding opportunities and accessing international research grants Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in group work, practiced writing proposals under expert guidance, and received in-depth feedback to improve their skills. The training not only enhanced participants’ professional competencies in research and proposal writing, but also provided a valuable platform for academic exchange, networking, and the development of potential research collaborations. This activity is part of a series of initiatives under the FORSU project aimed at strengthening research capacity and fostering innovation in higher education institutions in Vietnam, thereby contributing to digital transformation and the sustainable restoration of forest ecosystems.
