Training on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR): Towards Sustainable Supply Chains
Within the framework of the FORSU Project – Erasmus+, Tay Nguyen University organized a training workshop on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) under WP4: Development of Transversal Skills.
Objectives
The training aimed to:
- Update core knowledge on the EUDR and its compliance requirements;
- Strengthen capacities in traceability and supply chain transparency;
- Introduce the role of digital technologies, GIS, and remote sensing in supporting EUDR implementation.
Participants
The workshop brought together students, lecturers, and stakeholders from the agriculture and forestry sectors. Participants actively engaged in discussions and practical case studies, with particular attention to sectors significantly affected by the EUDR, such as coffee, timber, and rubber.
Key Outcomes
As a result of the training, participants:
- Gained a clear understanding of the background, scope, and key requirements of the EUDR;
- Identified potential risks and opportunities when accessing the European Union market;
- Enhanced their skills in applying digital tools to support sustainable resource management.
The activity received highly positive feedback and was assessed as practical, timely, and closely aligned with real-world needs.
